Job Description:
This position ensures the day-to-day operational and managerial needs of the Environmental and Linen Services department are met at Dixie Regional Medical Center (DRMC).
Responsible and accountable in providing leadership, management, budgetary controls, and integration of all departmental operations.
Maintains the standards of cleanliness and appearance as established by the facility and Joint Commission standards.
Scope
Manages more than 100 employees with an annual budget of $3 million or more.
Areas of responsibility include the 400 East and River Road Campuses, Human Performance Center, Cancer Center, Jubilee House, and other associated business and medical offices.
Job Essentials
Coordinates department day-to-day operations, staff, and resources to ensure hospital standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance are met.
Works with outside vendors to ensure clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
Oversees the hiring process including interviewing, orienting and onboarding, as well as the employee corrective action process and terminations.
Evaluates staff competency through use of performance evaluations, mandatory education requirements, staff meetings, employee coaching and mentoring.
Role models and fosters a department culture of professionalism and employee engagement.
Develops, implements, and maintains systems and programs such as budgeting, cost containment and expense controls to ensure sound financial operation.
Achieves operating results through strategic thinking, maintains a customer focus, builds relationships, develops people, and motivates teams.
Monitors guest/patient satisfaction scores.
Develops and implements action plans to achieve desired outcomes in customer service.
Ensures that staff incorporates best practice standards into all aspects of service delivery.
Executes leadership rounding.
Enforces policies and procedures and adherence to regulatory requirements from Intermountain, accrediting entities, government agencies and other applicable regulating bodies.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience, including effective coaching, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, supervise, and delegate for a facility requiring services 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization, and communicate effectively in meetings and group settings.
Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and the ability to learn new software.
Experience in managing departmental budgets and contracts
Demonstrated quality and process improvement and effective project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Education must be obtained through an accredited institution.
Degree will be verified.
International Executive Housekeeping Association (IEHA) Certification
Joint Commission experience
Experience working in a hospital setting
Institutional housekeeping experience
